ADITI DESHPANDE is the founder of the startup Aaru’s cakes & chocolates. And she has been passionately baking from the last 7 years. She runs a cake studio in the city of Nagpur. And has been earnestly training people of all ages, be it small childrens, teenagers, young adults and even mid aged to retired ones, through her workshops at her Cake Studio.
The journey of ‘how it began’ is quite interesting as it revolves around how a full time journalist became an accidental-passionate baker. Aditi has worked for Lokmat Times in Nagpur. But, like many Aditi, also had a lot of interest in cooking and baking since childhood.
And life took a turn after she embraced motherhood for the second time. She discontinued with her job as she wanted to enjoy this beautiful phase. Like every other kid, her daughter also had a sweet tooth and like every thoughtful mother, Aditi wanted to serve her daughter with the best. She wanted to sort her daughter’s sweet cravings with something that’s delicious yet homemade.
That’s when she decided to whisk the buttery bliss again. From experimental recipes to new techniques, Aditi tried her hands on everything, be it cakes, cookies, cup cakes, croissants, chocolates endlessly. And a positive feedback from her close ones, accelerated her to hit the market commercially.
When we asked Aditi about what she did next, we were amazed to know that she started off with her workshops – “I have been non-commercial in my approach. Sharing my knowledge about baking with others gives me joy and satisfaction. Thus I decided to take workshops, where I shared and taught everything that I knew”.

Serving on all occasions anniversaries, birthdays, kitty parties, celebrations of all kind, to even job promotion. Cakes are an answer to everyones delight.

As a woman entrepreneur, bridging the gap and balancing personal and professional life sometimes can be a task. But Aditi’s mantra of a “disciplined routine” makes it manageable for her. “Every day when I start, I plan my day and remind myself why I started. Not only does it make my day seem easy but helps me plan things better” Adds Aditi.

A good cake is characterised by a harmonious balance of taste, texture and appearance. It should be moist and fluffy, with a soft , even crumb structure and a well-balanced flavor profile. And that is where Aditi excels herself in.
What makes her journey commendable is that how she started off as a home baker but now proudly has owns a beautiful “Baking Studio”.
“Stepping out of the comfort zone” and willingly “being a learner” are two things which contributed in her success story.
“Where being a boss is a humble privilege, it comes with many responsibilities which one cannot imagine. Right from a new mindset with a broader vision to handling pressure of timelines, invoices, inventory and a lot more.
