READ FOR THE DO'S & DON'TS YOU MUST KNOW. ASK THESE QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU SELECT.

An EV is mostly for inside city travel and often not for venturing outside your city limits. There are a number of aspects to look in to, before you settle for the right EV for your needs.

To begin with, first remember this: check your travel needs. How frequently do you need the scooter per day or per week? How many kilometers do you plan to travel each session? On which floor do you reside and how does your EV have to be charged? There are many other factors to contemplate before you make a decision.
YOUR EV IS MOSTLY BATTERY AND STRENGTH
Your EV, scooter or bike, will be remembered for it’s performance. The performance of an electric scooter or bike is mostly about its battery power and strength. Rest is secondary. So, what to look for in an EV? Here are the questions to help you decide.
How many batteries does the EV scooter have and what is the combined total mileage it is going to offer. Does it fulfill your daily or frequent travel needs? What is the warranty like and what more does it offer?
CHARGING OPTIONS
How is the battery going to be charged.. with the batteries in the EV? If yes, then you may have to employ the charger to the EV scooter or bike in the parking area. Does your parking area have an electric connection and the socket? If not, then you may need a sufficiently long charger cable or have to buy an extension box with the right cable length. And what will you do if you reside on the first floor or even higher?
Does the EV scooter offer the choice of removing the battery and taking it inside your house? This option looks better, isn’t it?
Are the dimensions of the battery comfortable to carry? How long and wide is it? Is it too heavy? Is the battery easier to carry?
CHARGING TIME
The battery performance and the time required for charging are both vital issues. How long does it need to get fully charged? Will it need to keep you awake for longer hours after a busy and tiring day?
How long will the battery serve you? How many years will the battery last and how soon will you need to look for the replacement? What’s the cost of the replacement? Does the arithmetic suit your budget?
IS IT A SMART EV?
Is the EV sufficiently smart to suit your smart routine? Does the EV support GPS connectivity to locate you when needed? Does the EV have a display screen fitted to make the ride easier? Like, showing the current energy status of the battery and predicting how far you can move with it?
What does the company offer in case of technical glitches on the road? Do they offer a toll free number or an online app to connect to in case of emergency? How does the EV manufacturer expect you to connect to its servicing or repairing team?
So, do you indulge in a bit of shopping while returning from the workplace? Does the EV offer enough space for you to utilize?

An electric scooter is usually best for use within the city limits. It is best advisable to keep a count of the mileage it offers, so that you may plan to recharge it before the battery goes fully dry. Some scooters come with two batteries in the loop to offer better performance. So such an EV turns out to be a wiser option. In some cases, the extra battery is placed in the scooter but is not already connected. In such a case, you would need to stop somewhere to connect the other battery before the current battery goes fully dry.

However, most of the EV scooters have a single battery. Check the mileage it offers and count the kilometers during your proposed travel plan for the particular day. If you’re going to be commuting by the EV scooter, look for one that’s at least 250 watts.
It is also advisable to return to your place before the battery goes dry. It is safer and more comfortable to charge your EV’s battery at our place. Of Course there may be a few recharging stations in your city but you never know if one would not be somewhere on the way just when you may need one.
How are you being allowed to recharge- while it remains in the scooter or do you have to remove it and carry it near the electricity connection? The later option may become a bit cumbersome if you are tired after a day’s work and don’t feel like removing it and carry it all the way inside your place.
The size and weight of the battery is also a factor if you have to carry it every now and then for charging.
And, before we conclude, here’s a brief run of the  points to consider before taking a final call on which EV to buy.
USAGE
What is your usage going to be like. Do you regularly want to use the EV and how many kilometers at the most, do you intend to use it, per day. Choose a scooter as per your usage and pick up one with the best corresponding mileage. If the desired usage may exceed what you are intending as of now, then you may be required to buy an extra battery.
BATTERY
What is the battery’s mileage going to be like at the beginning. That is when would you need to recharge it? How long will it serve you?
PERFORMANCE
The top speed, weight, and maximum load, along with the electric scooter’s battery range, motor power, braking system, and tires..all these define the EV’s performance. Ask more probing questions like the charging time & the range, the battery Type and Capacity, the peak power and torque. Pneumatic (i.e. air-filled) tires are always recommended over solid ones for better rides.
AND, NOT TO FORGET..
The License and Registration Requirements and of course the after-sales network matter equally. And never forget to test ride during the day and if possible, during the night time too, before you choose.
