#Independence day & Janmashtami : The spirit of independence
A look into why India’s Independence Day and Lord Krishna’s birth, celebrated on the same date, symbolize the timeless pursuit of liberation from all forms of bondage.

#Independence day & Janmashtami : The spirit of independence. This year, a unique confluence marks the calendar as Bharat or India celebrates its Independence Day on the same date as Krishna Janmashtami.
This special alignment underscores a profound, shared philosophy: the eternal human quest for freedom. Both events, though separated by millennia, narrate a powerful story of breaking free from oppression and establishing a righteous order.

Independence day forever!!
The life of Lord Krishna, from his very birth, is a testament to the struggle for freedom. Born in the strict confinement of a prison cell under the tyrannical rule of his maternal uncle Kansa, Krishna’s journey began with a fight against bondage.
His father, Vasudeva, had to spirit him away from the shadow of death, separating him from his parents to ensure he could grow up in the free air of Gokul.
This initial act of liberation from Kansa’s prison walls sets the stage for a life dedicated to freeing others from tyranny.
As a young boy, Krishna brought light and wisdom to the simple Gopis and cowherds of Vrindavan. He gave them a philosophy of spiritual freedom, liberating them from worldly anxieties and attachments. His teachings were like the first rays of the sun, illuminating their lives and freeing their hearts from mundane concerns.
Throughout his life, Krishna served as the ultimate liberator. He fought against mighty and cruel rulers like Kansa, Shishupal, Jarasandha, and Jayadrath.
He didn’t hesitate to challenge the established order, even when it meant standing against revered figures like Bhishma and Drona. He cleared the path to salvation for many by ending corrupt regimes and allowing the people to breathe freely.
He rescued the Pandavas from their exile and helped them reclaim their rightful kingdom, establishing a rule of Dharma and public welfare. He ended the reign of Duryodhana, which was based on deceit and unrighteousness, and did not shy away from a civil war to protect the principles of justice and righteousness. He ensured that a new generation, grounded in Dharma, would lead society forward, even at a great personal cost.
Krishna’s role as a liberator extends even to the realm of myth and legend. He freed sixteen thousand women from the clutches of the demon Narakasura. He also guided his own Yadava clan towards destruction when they became arrogant and oppressive due to their immense wealth.
By accepting the curse of Gandhari with humility and bringing about the end of his own era, he ensured that the cycle of tyranny was broken, and the earth was freed from the burden of the wicked. His final teachings to Uddhava showed the path to spiritual liberation.
The celebration of Krishna’s birthday on the same day as India’s Independence Day reminds us that freedom is the most precious treasure.
It is more valuable than any other wealth. Without a free nation, there is no religion, no community, and no progress.
Let us pledge to protect this freedom at all costs, for it is the foundation of our existence.
Happy Shree Krishna Janmashtami to all !
