Neomotion: Setting the wheelchair users real free!

From a personalized wheel chair to a road worthy vehicle, in a few minutes. From entering into an ATM or a bank, from playing para table tennis to para shooting, Neomotion actually makes life easier.

Neomotion is setting lives literally free. Instead of liberating wheelchair users from leading restricted lives, the majority of wheelchairs restrict mobility. This has made wheelchair users mostly invisible in Indian society. However, the personalized wheelchairs by NeoMotion are a way out, many users believe. It’s also about a crusade, launched by an IIT Professor, against the mediocre disability products that we tend to see everywhere.

Dr. Namrata Mishra Tiwari

How often do we see a wheelchair user at a school, an office, a shop or a theatre? Yes, it’s a pointed and a very valid question. Statistics say, every year, three lakh wheelchairs are sold in India, of which two and half lakh are imported. Regrettably, the reality is, 95% of all wheelchairs sold in India are ‘one-size-fits-all’.

Obviously, this means they restrict mobility, damage health, and lower self-confidence. Few wheelchair users can safely and independently transfer into tricycles and modified scooters. How can we expect the majority of wheelchair users to go outdoors?

NeoMotion people say, the brand is here to transform this. They aim to touch one lac lives per year in India alone, by the year 2025.

THE ‘NEOMOTION’ EXPERIENCE

NeoMotion users believe that it’s a crusade against the mediocre disability products that mar the Indian landscape. Against the mediocrity that has led to wheelchair users being invisible in society and restricted to the four walls of their homes.

NeoFly is a personalized wheelchair designed to enhance health and lifestyle. 18 customizations ensure a perfect fit to the user’s needs. NeoFly covers three to five times more distance for every push owing to the right posture, a rigid frame and an ergonomic pushrim. A 30% smaller footprint for the same seating area enhances accessibility of narrow spaces. The design conforms to the user’s body, making the user more visible than the wheelchair.

NeoCushion, a cushion with every NeoFly, is specially designed to enhance skin care, stability, and ease of transfer.

NeoBolt is a motor-powered clip-on which converts NeoFly into a safe, roadworthy vehicle. It is designed to enable wheelchair users to go out into the world, explore life, get employed and have fun! NeoBolt eliminates the need to transfer into other vehicles and can be independently attached by the user within seconds. It has a maximum speed of 25 kmph and travels up to 25 km per charge. NeoBolt can be safely used on uneven terrains. NeoMotion people say, it will empower wheelchair users with a low-cost mode of outdoor mobility when compared to cars, auto rickshaw or modified scooters.

NeoMotion’s offerings include NeoFit, a platform to remotely assess wheelchair users and identify the appropriate customizations, NeoCare, provision for spares and after-sales service, NeoLife, health guidance for users.

NEOMOTION : AFFORDABILITY & IMPACT

Neomotion

NeoMotion users that we spoke to shared their observations. They say, the products with somewhat comparable features are available only in the global market and are three to five times as expensive. They also claim that the NeoMotion products are also, by design, more suitable for use in Indian terrain.  They also support the claim that NeoMotion’s products are aimed to be world class products designed and made in India – for India and abroad.

Neomotion

NeoFly aims to promote good health, increase accessibility and make wheelchair use enjoyable. With NeoBolt, wheelchair users can venture out more and explore the world independently without fear, thereby becoming empowered to engage in education and employment. The increased engagement will result in an active lifestyle  and a better attitude towards life. NeoMotion’s solutions will not only bring wheelchair users to the mainstream of society, but also enable their entire family to live a productive life with dignity.

Neomotion

As a result of increased participation, the macro socio-economic impact of wheelchair users embracing NeoMotion’s solutions will be game-changing.
