#operationsindoor : India strikes back at #terrorism!
#LoC flares up after #operationsindoor hits terror hubs.
#operationsindoor has evoked mixed response worldwide, though India, a nation seething with anger post #pahalgamterrorattack felt justifiably satisfied to some extent. Russia, Israel have supported India’s right to defend itself, Turkey has openly sided with Pakistan while China has called for restraint.

Indian armed forces carried out missile attacks on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of 1.05 am to 1.28 am on 7th of May, to avenge the 22nd April terror attack in south Kashmir ‘s #Pahalgam. The #pahalgamterrorattack had left 26 civilians dead.
The nation felt shocked and angry. Emotions soon began running high. The opposition parties began mounting pressure on the union government led by Prime Minister Modi though he and his government had immediately made their intentions quite clear. India’s army said the operation was named ‘Sindoor,’ a Hindi word for the bright red vermilion powder worn by married Hindu women on their forehead and hair, referring to the women whose husbands were killed in front of them. Under #operationsindoor , the Indian armed forces successfully struck nine targets , four in Pakistan and five in Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir, which were the hideouts of terror groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM).
The Indian Air Forces carried out the airstrikes in Pakistan occupied Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan with Rafale jets , armed with SCALP cruise missiles and HAMMER precision – guided munitions. The strikes were reportedly executed from the Indian Airspace, and Kamikaze drones were also used.
#operationsindoor briefing was done by Foreign secretary Vikram Misri, Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh addressed the media, highlighting the key aspects of #operationsindoor.
The Pahalgam attack, claimed by Lashkar-e-Taiba affiliate TRF, exposed Pakistan’s terror links.
The targets were selected based on intelligence inputs , with careful and consideration to ensure civilian safety.
Pakistan has emerged as safe haven for terrorists in the world. “Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said. Over the past 30 years, Pakistan has developed a systematic terror infrastructure with recruitment hubs, training camps, and launch pads for handlers.
The targets of #operationsindoor were selected to break the “backbone’ of terrorism. The Foreign secretary also mentioned that despite expectations to act against terrorism, Pakistan resorted to denial and false flat allegations against India. Intelligence agencies of India warned of further terror threats , making swift and decisive action necessary and urgent, he added.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh quoted Ramayana “Jinh mohi maara, tain main maare” and said, “..we followed the principles that Lord Hanuman had once famously followed while going into Ashok Vatika. We targeted only those who killed our innocent people.”
Pakistan breaches ceasefire; again targets civilian areas
As mentioned by the Indian Army, right after #operationsindoor was executed , Pakistan violated the ceasefire agreement. It fired artillery in Bhimber Gali in the Poonch-Rajauri area.
Reports say, the Indian Army is responding appropriately in a calibrated manner.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India appealed to all tourists , visitors and local people who might have more information, photographs or videos relating to the #PahalgamTerrorAttack to immediately contact the agency. NIA has urged all such people to call up the agency and provide their personal details and also the details of the kind of inputs they want to share.
Post the Air strikes, neighbouring countries were quick to advocate false narratives .India slammed chinese state media for sharing fake news after #operationsindoor. The agency falsely claimed that Pakistan downed Indian fighter jets.
In American media, The New York Times led with the headline: “India launches missile strikes inside Pakistan after Kashmir attack.” The reportage viewed the operation as a “major escalation” in the India-Pakistan conflict, with emphasis on the fact that India informed the United States in advance of the strike, signalling an attempt minimise international friction.
CNN went with the headline “India and Pakistan on brink of wider conflict” coverage heavily focused on India’s use of advance weaponry , like Rafale fighter jets and SCALP cruise missiles. Strikes were aimed at terror infrastructure and not at military assets, reinforcing India’s stance.
Washington post ‘s headline said, “tensions soar as India strikes Pakistan, Islamabad vows response,” with the report calling India’s action a “measured show of force”. Highlighting India’s restraint in avoiding military targets and limiting casualties.
BBC emphasised how the terror hubs in Bahawalpur and Muridke were key targets of the Indian strike. With the concern for further escalation.
