Terrorists selectively gunned down tourists! after all, what harm did the tourists do to the terrorists? Tourists were not there to buy land, they had come for sightseeing and some came to celebrate honeymoon after getting married. No religion asks to kill tourists.

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 35 YEARS, SHUTDOWN AGAINST TERROR ATTACK IN THE KASHMIR VALLEY!

After the killing of 26 tourists by terrorists in Pahalgam, for the first time the people of Kashmir are speaking openly against terrorists. After Jammu , all the opposition parties in the Kashmir valley have also called for a shutdown in the valley protesting against this heinous act. They say it is the murder of humanity, murder of hospitality of the Kashmiri people.

Tourism in Kashmir has seen a tremendous boom in the last few years, the locals there were getting direct benefits of this growth, In the year 2020, the number of tourists visiting Kashmir was 34 lakh which increased to around 2.5 crore by the year 2024. This was a huge leap, which not only strengthened the economy of Kashmir, but also created new employment and income opportunities for the people there. People started considering Kashmir as a safe and attractive place, due to which number of tourists increased so rapidly.

But this cowardly attack yesterday can prove to be big setback to all this progress. This attack has created fear about security in the minds of tourists, which is sure to have a direct impact on the tourism industry. This will lead to slowdown in tourism and this will be a direct loss to the local people.

Indian prime minister Narendra Modi cut short his visit to Saudi Arabia and said that those responsible would be brought to justice, emphasizing India’s resolve to combat terrorism.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah travelled to Srinagar to assess the situation and coordinate the security response.

Union minister for finance and corporate affairs Nirmala Sitharaman cut short her official visit to the United States and Peru. Security forces launched a manhunt to apprehend the perpetrators, and a helpline was established to assist affected tourists. Protests were held in many parts of Indian-administered Kashmir condemning the attack, including some in Jammu who blamed Pakistan.

On 23 April, the Indian Army gave limited clearance for the operation of HAL Dhruv for counter-terrorism operations. The fleet was otherwise grounded.

TWO TERRORISTS GUNNED DOWN BY INDIAN ARMY. BIG OPERATION BEGINS!

The National Investigation Agency initiated an investigation into the attack after visiting the site on 23 April.

Following a preliminary investigation, security agencies have released sketches of three of the militants involved in attack and stated that all of them are linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, and at least two are believed to be foreigners.

Protests have erupted in Srinagar, condemning the terror attack. Meanwhile, tourists are fleeing the region, with airlines adding extra flights at normal fares, as directed by the Government. This is one of the deadliest civilian attacks in Kashmir in recent years and has triggered widespread condemnation.
