#ShubhanshuShukla soars : India’s star in Axiom-4 Mission !
Axiom-4 Shubhanshu's Leap Beyond Earth for a fortnight...


During the 14-day mission, #ShubhanshuShukla will carry out a series of 60 scientific experiments focused on food and nutrition in microgravity. Including 7 designed by #ISRO Serving as the mission pilot alongside Commander Peggy Whitson, Shukla’s research is part of a collaboration between the Indian Space Research Organization #ISROthe Department of Biotechnology (DBT), and #NASA.

Group captain #ShunbhanshuShukla embarked on the #AxiomMission4 to the #ISS,marking India’s return to space after 41 years. Carrying scientific instruments and Indian sweets like mango nectar and carrot and moong dal halwa, Shukla also took souvenir for his mentor, Rakesh Sharma.

A zero gravity indicator toy swan, named Joy, floating once the capsule enters space. In India It symbolizes wisdom and is the vehicle of Devi Saraswati, the goddess of learning. In Poland it represents purity and resilience, while in Hungary, it stands for loyalty and grace.

“Namaskar, my dear countrymen; we have reached space after 41 years. It was a great ride We are orbiting earth at a speed of 7.5 km per second, I have Indian tricolour on my shoulders. Tricolour tells me I am with you all, it is not just the start of my journey to ISS but also of India’s human spaceflight. I want each one of you to be part of this journey, let us embark on India’s human space programme,” said #Shubhanshu Shukla as the Dragon spacecraft began its journey towards the #ISS.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Shukla on becoming the first Indian to go to the International Space Station.
“We welcome the successful launch of the Space Mission carrying astronauts from India, Hungary, Poland and the US,” PM Modi said in a post on X.
“The Indian Astronaut, Group Captain #Shubhanshu Shukla is on the way to become the first Indian to go to International Space Station. He carries with him the wishes, hopes and aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians. Wish him and other astronauts all the success!” he added.
