Did CJP Pull Its Own Plug? Internet Smells a Setup

Screenshots showing the website’s “clientHold” status have sparked a fresh political and digital freedom debate online.

Did CJP Pull Its Own Plug? Internet Smells a Setup. The controversy surrounding the viral online movement Cockroach Janta Party has intensified after founder Abhijeet Dipke alleged that several of the group’s social media accounts and digital platforms were taken down due to government pressure. However, fresh claims and screenshots shared by X users have now triggered a counter narrative online.

Dipke recently posted on X that the party’s Instagram page was hacked, his personal Instagram account was compromised, the main X account was withheld, and even backup accounts had been removed. He further stated that the organization no longer had access to its platforms and suggested there was a coordinated “crackdown” against the movement.

Social Media Accounts Suspended, Website Goes Offline

The Cockroach Janta Party, which emerged as a satirical digital campaign focused on unemployment, youth frustration, and political commentary, had rapidly gained millions of followers within days. International media outlets also reported on the sudden rise of the movement among Gen Z audiences in India.

X Users Counter Claims With Technical Evidence

But on Saturday, social media platform X saw a flood of posts challenging Dipke’s claims. Several users circulated screenshots allegedly showing technical details related to the party’s website domain. According to these screenshots, the domain appeared to be under “clientHold” status — a condition generally linked to registrar or owner-side action rather than direct government blocking. Users argued that the website may have been disabled from the owner’s end instead of being officially banned.

‘ClientHold’ Status Sparks Online Debate

“the domain is unavailable globally, not just in India,”

One viral post claimed that “the domain is unavailable globally, not just in India,” while others accused the founder of attempting to create a “victim narrative” for sympathy online. These accusations gained traction after screenshots of DNS lookup tools and domain records were widely shared across X and Instagram.

No Official Government Confirmation Yet

As the controversy continues trending across social media, there is no official government statement publicly confirming a nationwide ban on the Cockroach Janta Party website or its social media handles. The debate has now turned into a larger political and digital freedom discussion, with supporters calling it censorship while critics accuse the movement of manufacturing controversy for online attention.
