CASE 1. THE CHANGE IN COLOUR
The parents of this youngster promised him as his birthday gift, the automobile he so dreamt and yearned about. A Black sports automobile. The boy’s elder brother took him to a nearby franchisee where they paid a hefty booking amount and booked the vehicle of his dreams. He was promised delivery within a month.

When they received a call from the franchisee well before the due date, they were shocked to find the automobile model waiting for them, in an another color, not the black one. The reason? The sales team members had conveniently forgotten to mention the desired color on the receipt and had mentioned the another color in their processing document.
Then the sales team spent long sessions in trying to convince the brothers that, they had probably wanted this one only, that they had booked this color only and never the black one. As if they knew more about the boy’s fancies than the boy himself.
When a relative, watching all this drama taking shape, spoke to the other staff members at the franchisee and dug deeper, the simple reason for this behavior came out. This color was not in demand, so the sales team wanted to get rid of the model and had zeroed on the two boys as the perfect victim. That was probably why, the call had come before the actual due date.
The relative, a senior journalist, then sent out mails to the management of the automobile company and issued a legal notice. That was how the matter was amicably solved with the prompt delivery of the desired black version.
CASE 2. THE MUCH IN DEMAND SUV
This successful sales executive booked a much in demand SUV. It was an EV, that looked just perfect to address his city travel issues. His nature of work demanded random travel to the tune of more than a hundred kilometers within city limits each working day.
He had to visit several places, in varying degree of traffic congestion and road conditions, through out the day. Many a times, he had to carry samples of goods or even defective pieces.
How he wished to escape from the waiting time at fuel stations and spending there everyday. Getting urgently, an EV that looked like an SUV and solved all his problems, was the solution. He went on and booked it. He was given two months as the waiting period. meanwhile, he also got his Car Loan processed, just to save the time.
Six months later, he has had enough after having heard countless stories during as many trips to the franchisee. An insider then shared the shocking revelation.
Many other clients who had booked the same much in demand SUV, after him, had been enjoying their rides already as he waited for his turn of allotment and was made to hear stories after stories and dates after newer dates.
He then searched the ratings and reviews of the said franchisee on internet and was shocked to find he wasn’t alone. There were so many like him, needlessly there in the over extended waiting period queue.
CASE 3. THE WAIT FOR THE NEW SCHOOL BUS
Another recent real story here. A school Bus service operator booked a 27 seater bus and paid the whole amount to a Nagpur based franchisee, as his loan provider processed everything well within time and transferred the amount to the franchisee.
The reason, he had signed a lucrative contract with an upscale area school and was required to provide the bus well before the school re-opening day.

The sales team at the franchisee gave him a date of delivery. That was the beginning of an ordeal involving countless falsehoods and excuses and a newer date of delivery, every single time he visited the franchisee.
He was introduced to several men and women at the franchisee with changing names and designations.
Each time he was sent to meet a new man who offered a new story and a fresh excuse. Then he was also given alternate choices that he never wanted to hear about in the first place. These included offers to consider switching over to a few years old busses or larger capacity busses.
He was made to believe that these were the best options in the given circumstances to save his time, image and the contract.
A month after the school opened, he still is clueless about the delivery of the bus he had booked and paid for, as the monthly installment for the loan is credited in favor of the loan provider. He is spending more to the other standby bus provider as rent.
He is made to suffer financial hardships and mental agony as he slowly has begun to realize his ultimate fate.. of losing the contract, as there is no trace of the promised bus. The franchisee owners do not pick up his phone calls nor reply to his messages.
Recently, he searched internet about the franchise and was left aghast to find the bad reviews and poor ratings many clients like him had given to the franchisee there, for the falsehoods, fake promises, fake solutions about non existent busses, their matchless arrogance and thorough unprofessional behavior. But, its was too late. He continues to suffer with newer fake promises.
THE SOLUTION : GET IN WRITING

The simple solution is get it all written, signed, stamped on the letter head.
All required key details such as the promised delivery date, the actual details of the desired model, the desired variety or the color of the model, everything ought to be in writing.
So that, the client can approach the consumer court. So, simple.
