Tech Titans or Intruders? The California’s Workforce Clash

Trump’s Citizenship Rhetoric vs. India’s Economic Rise

Tech Titans or Intruders? The California’s Workforce Clash. The political landscape surrounding US-India relations has hit a turbulent patch following recent inflammatory remarks from President Donald Trump regarding birthright citizenship and the role of Indian immigrants in the American workforce.

The controversy ignited after a series of social media interactions and podcast reposts that characterized legal immigration pathways as a mechanism for exploitation, specifically targeting the high-tech corridors of California.

Birthright Citizenship

The rhetoric originated from a Michael Savage podcast segment which claimed that immigrants from India and China are utilizing birthright citizenship to gain a foothold in the United States and subsequently dominate the technology sector.

The segment went as far as to label these professional immigrants as gangsters with laptops. Donald Trump amplified these sentiments by adding a personal note, suggesting that while he previously supported the growth of India within its own borders, he now perceives significant issues with the current immigration system.

He reiterated his long-standing push to end citizenship for children born to non-citizens, a move that critics argue would undermine the 14th Amendment.

 Rhetoric !

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India responded formally on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal described the remarks as “uninformed, inappropriate, and in poor taste,” emphasizing that such language does not reflect the reality of the robust US-India relationship, which is built on mutual respect and shared strategic interests.

Indian-American leaders, including Representatives Ami Bera and Raja Krishnamoorthi, also condemned the rhetoric, noting its potential to damage the $200 billion trade relationship and defense partnerships between the two nations

Narrow Politics ?

Contrasting this heated political environment, Dattatreya Hosabale, a senior leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), provided a different perspective during the Hudson Institute’s New India Conference.

Without directly engaging in partisan bickering, Hosabale addressed the identity of the RSS and India’s global standing. He described the RSS as a grassroots organization dedicated to character building and social service rather than narrow politics.

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam

Rejecting labels such as Hindu supremacist, Hosabale cited the ancient philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the world is one family.

He highlighted India’s emergence as the world’s fourth-largest economy and a premier tech hub, noting that the RSS operates at 83,000 community sites and support 40 organizations focusing on health, education, and disaster relief.

While some online commentators called for leadership transitions within the organization, many others supported his defense of Hindu history as a foundation for global stability and economic progress.

Hosabale remark at the Hudson Institute aimed to bridge cultural misunderstandings, arguing that tradition and modernization can coexist harmoniously to build a self-confident and prosperous society.
