The images, posted as visual feedback, by them on Google which are clearly seen when the name of the facility is searched, are equally shivering. Finding out the reality and the guilty is a job cut out for the Maharashtra FDA (Food & Drug Administration).

The disturbing images lead to equally disturbing questions. These probing questions demand direct answers. Are these students, who are living far from their homes, made to suffer the worst hygiene crisis for no fault? if yes, Why? And who is responsible? Why their physical and mental health along with their studies are left to suffer? Moreover, why those who should have acted on the feedback, long ago, have kept silent?

#FDA ALERT: The Reality of Down Grade Living?

A routine meal at a student housing facility should offer nourishment, comfort, and peace of mind. However, student residents at this so called high ranking eating facility are allegedly facing a deeply alarming reality.

Instead of wholesome food, students report being served unhygienic, potentially infected meals where pests and insects are allegedly can be seen openly crawling across serving trays, food warmers, and dining counters. Abhorring, isn’t it?

Shocking Evidence of Contamination

Recent visual evidence, claimed to have been captured directly from the hostel mess reveals a shocking disregard for basic food safety standards.

Bugs and insects have been documented moving freely around breakfast provisions like sliced bread, floating dangerously close to milk and beverage containers, and roaming across lunch and dinner platters containing rice, salads etc.

For young professionals and students who rely on these institutional kitchens for their daily nutrition, such sights are not only nauseating but represent a direct, active threat to public health.

Systemic Failures and Health Risks

The presence of pests in commercial food preparation and serving areas points to severe systemic failures. This includes a total lack of professional pest control, neglected sanitation routines, improper food storage, and a blatant disregard for safety regulations mandated for student housing facilities.

When kitchen management cuts corners on cleanliness, they gamble directly with human lives. Consuming food exposed to crawling pests risks severe waterborne and foodborne illnesses, including gastroenteritis, food poisoning, typhoid, and severe bacterial infections.

Urgent Call for Action

It is utterly unacceptable that a residential facility associated with premium educational and living standards allows such hazardous conditions to persist unchecked.

Students pay significant fees expecting secure, healthy living environments, only to be met with appalling neglect. Immediate intervention is required.

Food safety authorities and municipal health inspectors must conduct unannounced raids, penalize the management, and overhaul the mess operations to restore basic hygiene standards.
